What is the current and next Genshin Impact banner?

Genshin Impact banners rotate every few weeks, and we always know what to expect thanks to regular updates from Hoyoverse. The developer of the anime game always keeps its fans in the loop with regular twitter posts and livestreams, so you can plan where you want to spend your hard-earned Primogems.

With a two to three-week turnaround for banners, the roster of Genshin Impact characters is always changing, and the current 3.1 update brings three brand-new Teyvat residents to draw for. Every limited-time character banner – or Event Wish – contains a five-star character, and three four-star characters with increased drop rates. There’s also a Weapon banner – Epitome Invocation – which runs alongside each character banner and changes weapons every update.

Genshin Impact current event banner

The current Genshin Impact banners are Venti’s Ballad in Goblets and the Cyno banner Twilight Arbiter. Both available for the duration of phase one of Genshin Impact 3.1, between September 27 and October 14, 2022.

Ballad in Goblets features:

Genshin Impact current weapon banner

The Genshin Impact weapon pity system gives you the chance to pull a five-star weapon on the current weapon banner. The featured items in the current Epitome Invocation banner are:

• Staff of the Scarlet Sands (five-star polearm)
• Elegy for the End (five-star bow)
• Makhaira Aquamarine (four-star claymore)
• Lion’s Roar (four-star sword)
• Favonius Lance (four-star polearm)
• Sacrificial Fragments (four-star catalyst)
• Favonius Warbow (four-star bow)

Next Genshin Impact banner

While you’re putting your Primogems into earning the likes of Cyno and Candance, don’t forget there will be two new banners to try your luck on in phase two of the 3.1 update.

As of October 14, when the current Event Wishes rotate out, we will be introduced to Nilou, the elegant Dance of Lotuslight. The Nilou banner is yet to be fully revealed, but we know that she will be accompanied by Albedo’s banner Secretum Secretorum.

Future Genshin Impact banners

The next phase of banners will go live when Genshin Impact 3.2 launches on November 2. While we will have to wait a little longer for the Hoyoverse 3.2 livestream to find out exactly which banners we can expect in phase one and two of the update, we do already know some of the new characters who will be featured.

Nahida was first announced in an official tweet on September 26, and comes as no surprise to anyone who has already played through any of the 3.1 Sumeru storyline in which we first meet the Lesser Lord Kusanali. We first thought the mysterious little lady would come with 3.0 and were disappointed, but we can now safely assume that there will be a Nahida banner in 3.2.

Hoyoverse then introduced us to Layla in a follow-up tweet, so we can also expect a Layla banner in the next update. Little is known about the Rtawahist student so far, other than that she is known as Fantastical Evening Star and studies Theoretical Astrology, so perhaps we could expect some more astrology-themed puzzles like we have seen in previous Genshin Impact events, when the new character is finally released.
